Are We a Good Fit?

New Patient Checklist

Selecting the right pediatrician is a significant decision that requires ensuring the practice’s philosophies and approach to care align with your family’s values and priorities. We believe this alignment is essential for building trust and fostering high-quality care as well as respectful, collaborative decision-making between you and your child’s pediatrician.

To support you in this process, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with our office policies and services.

We are dedicated to providing a welcoming, supportive environment and look forward to establishing a mutually rewarding partnership with your family.

  • Vaccines

We firmly believe vaccines are a safe and effective way to prevent disease in children and young adults. We therefore require all vaccines as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. If you have concerns about vaccines, we’re happy to discuss them. Our hope is to provide you with evidence and data-driven facts to help you make the best choice for your child.

  • Antibiotics

We strive to avoid overusing antibiotics by educating families on their proper use and following evidence-based guidelines to ensure responsible prescribing. Many sick symptoms are caused by viral illness and do not require antibiotic treatment. Instead, our pediatricians take the time to explain alternative approaches and the importance of allowing the body to heal naturally when appropriate.

Additionally, we do not routinely prescribe antibiotics over the phone, as we strongly believe it is not sound medical practice to do so without a proper assessment. Antibiotics are only prescribed when deemed necessary and appropriate, prioritizing the well-being of our patients while attempting to avoid the risks of antibiotic resistance and unnecessary side effects.

  • Medical Home

We work hard to provide comprehensive medical care and serve as your medical home. To that end, we have extended hours on evenings and weekends, and a nurse or physician is always reachable by phone to answer any questions you may have.  We urge you to contact our office FIRST before seeking specialty care or heading to another provider for urgent care. We want to be involved in either providing care in our office when appropriate or referring you to the most appropriate specialist and helping coordinate your care.

Whenever you do see a specialist, we ask that you request a report be sent directly to our office so we may stay informed and have the most up-to-date information in your child’s medical record.

  • Technology

Our practice prides itself on efficiency through the use of technology. Where applicable, you will be encouraged to consult our website, register for and use our patient portal, and effectively use automated reminders for appointments and routine care/immunizations that are due.

We also offer telehealth appointments for certain visits such as medication management and mental health.

  • Office Hours

We make every effort to meet the needs of our patients, offering both routine well child visits and sick child visits. To ensure we provide you with the most efficient care we ask that you call to schedule an appointment when your child needs to be seen in our office.

  • After Hours

When our office is closed, one of our physicians is always on call for urgent medical needs. We can assist in triaging your concern and help determine whether it can wait until the next business day or requires more immediate attention at an emergency room.

For after-hours assistance, please call 513-244-9042.

If your telephone does not accept calls marked as "private", you will need to unblock your phone by dialing *87. Otherwise, the physician will be unable to return your call.

Please save non-urgent concerns like mild illness, appointment requests, and prescription refills for regular office hours.

  • Insurance

We accept a wide variety of private and public insurance plans.  If you have concerns about whether we accept your policy, please call us to ensure we participate with your insurance plan. It is your responsibility to understand the limits and coverage of your health insurance policy.

We ask that patients present their insurance cards to make sure we have the most up to date information at each visit and be prepared to pay any copays at the time of service.

While our billing staff can assist with insurance inquiries, it's best to contact your insurance company directly for specific coverage questions. We strive to avoid any billing surprises, but we must bill your health plan according to federal guidelines and the actual services rendered.

For more details, please review our Financial Policy.

  • Timeliness & Missed Appointments

We value everyone's time equally. We ask that patients arrive 15 minutes before their appointment to ensure you have enough time to check in and complete necessary paperwork.

While we understand that delays can happen, we may ask late arrivals to reschedule.

Our practice strives to run on time, and missed appointments affect our clinicians, staff, and other patients. A fee may be charged for canceled or missed appointments if 24 hours' notice is not given.
