Same-Day Care When Your Child Isn't Feeling Well

When your child is sick, you want answers and care quickly, from pediatricians who already know your child. Pediatric Associates of Mt. Carmel offers same-day sick visits whenever possible at our Eastgate (Cincinnati), Batavia and Mason (Landen) offices. That way your child can get the right diagnosis, the right treatment and get back to feeling like themselves.

Common Reasons for a Sick Visit

Our pediatricians evaluate and treat the everyday illnesses and concerns that come with childhood, including:



  • Fever
  • Ear pain and ear infections
  • Sore throat and strep throat
  • Cough, cold and congestion
  • Rashes and skin concerns
  • Vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pain
  • Minor injuries such as sprains and cuts (please call first for instructions)

How to Schedule a Sick Visit

  • Schedule with our front desk: call (513) 752-3650 and press Option 2.
  • Talk to a triage nurse: call (513) 752-3650 and press Option 3 to leave a message for guidance and next steps.
  • Request online: submit a sick visit request anytime through our Patient Portal.


Prefer a visit from home? For certain conditions, you may be able to see your child's pediatrician through a secure video visit. Ask our staff when you call, or learn more about our Telehealth visits. 


Bringing more than one child? Let us know when you schedule. Without an appointment, we may not be able to see a sick sibling right away.

Evening, Weekend and After-Hours Care

Our Eastgate office offers weekday evening appointments until 7:30 PM and Saturday appointments from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. When our offices are closed, an on-call physician is always available at (513) 244-9042 to help you decide whether your child needs care right away or can wait until morning.

If your child has a life-threatening emergency, such as trouble breathing, loss of consciousness, severe bleeding or a seizure, call 911.

New to our practice? Children with an acute illness can be seen even while medical records are still being transferred. Call (513) 752-3650 to schedule.

    Yes. We offer same-day sick visits whenever possible, because we know how important it is for your child to be seen quickly.

  • How do I schedule a sick visit?

    You have three options:

  • Can I speak with a nurse before bringing my child in?

    Yes. Call (513) 752-3650 and press Option 3 to leave a message for our triage nurse. The nurse will provide guidance and next steps based on your child's symptoms.

  • Can you see more than one of my children at the same visit?

    Yes, but please tell us when you schedule. Without an appointment, we may not be able to see a sick sibling right away.

  • Do you have evening or weekend sick visits?

    Yes. Our Eastgate office offers evening hours until 7:30 PM Monday through Friday and Saturday hours from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM, by appointment.

  • What should I do if my child gets sick when your office is closed?

    Call our after-hours line at (513) 244-9042 to reach our on-call physician. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911.

  • Can a new patient be seen for a sick visit?

    Yes. New patients with an acute illness can be scheduled even while their medical records are still being transferred.
